Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Is DemandSense GDPR compliant, and how does it handle tracking and reporting in Europe?

Yes, DemandSense is fully GDPR compliant. We follow strict privacy guidelines based on regional regulations:

    • In the United States, we identify both individual visitors and their associated companies.
    • For European visitors, we limit identification to companies only, ensuring no personal data about individuals is collected. We focus on tracking business-related data (like company names and employee details) for outreach purposes, without violating GDPR.

Our LinkedIn ad reporting is consistent globally, including in Europe, where you can view company interactions with your ads, alongside key metrics like clicks, impressions, conversions, and CTR.

  • Why can’t I see demographic data with fewer than 3 clicks on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn needs a minimum of 3 events (clicks or impressions) before demographic data, including company information, is available. If you have fewer than 3 events, LinkedIn cannot generate this data. To resolve this, try expanding the time period of your report (e.g., multiple months) to ensure the data meets the threshold for reporting.

  • Can I manage multiple LinkedIn Ads accounts with one license?

Our tool allows you to manage one LinkedIn Ads account per license. If you need to manage multiple accounts, you can purchase an additional license and merge them under one account, making it easy to switch between the two. For assistance with this request, please reach out to us at support@demandsense.com

  • What’s the difference between a free trial and a paid package?

Our free trial gives you access to all features for 1 month, allowing you to fully explore and experience the platform. Once the trial period ends, you can continue using DemandSense by subscribing to one of our paid packages.

  • What’s the difference between DemandSense Basic vs. DemandSense Plus package?

Our DemandSense Basic package is designed for individual marketers who need essential LinkedIn advertising tools. It includes features like LinkedIn ad scheduling, the ability to reveal companies engaging with your ads, and demographic insights, along with hourly reporting. This package is perfect for those looking to get the most out of their LinkedIn ads with a solid, straightforward set of features.

Our DemandSense Plus package is designed for businesses looking for deeper insights and enhanced tracking. It includes everything in the Basic plan, plus 250 credits per month to identify website visitors. This allows you to discover both person-level and company-level visitors on your website, and match them with LinkedIn personal profiles. With the Plus plan, you can also choose from various sub-plans based on your credit needs, ranging from 250 to 7,500 credits per month.

Ads Scheduling FAQ

  • How long does it take for the scheduled ads to start running?

Once you set your schedule, it may take up to 24 hours for the system to fully synchronize and for the ads to start running as scheduled.

  • What is the default time zone used by the Ads Scheduling Tool?

If no time zone is selected, the system defaults to EST. However, you can customize the time zone to suit your campaign’s target regions.

  • Can I apply different schedules to individual campaigns when scheduling in bulk?

No, when scheduling multiple campaigns at once, the same schedule is applied to all selected campaigns. You cannot assign different schedules to individual campaigns in bulk.

  • Can I target multiple time zones for my LinkedIn ads?

Yes, with DemandSense’s Ads Scheduling Tool, you can choose different time zones for each campaign, which is especially useful when targeting multiple regions.

  • Do I need to keep my LinkedIn campaigns active for the scheduling tool to work?

Yes, you must keep your LinkedIn campaigns active. If your campaign is manually paused on LinkedIn, DemandSense will not override that pause, and the scheduling will be paused as well.

  • What happens if I manually pause a campaign in LinkedIn while it’s scheduled in DemandSense?

If you manually pause a campaign on LinkedIn, DemandSense will also pause the scheduling. The campaign will resume scheduling only once it's reactivated on LinkedIn.

  • Does pausing campaigns overnight in DemandSense put them back into the learning phase each day?

Based on our testing, the impact of pausing campaigns overnight on the learning phase can vary depending on the campaign type and settings. For example, cold or awareness campaigns targeting large audiences (100k+ people) might experience performance dips due to interruptions in the learning phase. To determine the best approach for your goals, we recommend comparing performance with and without scheduling pauses.

Audience Tuning FAQ

  • What is the Rate Accounts feature in Audience Tuning?

The Rate Accounts feature is a tool designed to help you optimize your audience targeting on LinkedIn. It allows you to see a full list of companies that have engaged with your ads, analyze key company details, and exclude irrelevant accounts from future campaigns.

  • How does the Rate Accounts feature differ from LinkedIn’s native demographic report?

Unlike LinkedIn’s native interface, which only shows the top 25 results, Rate Accounts provides the full list of up to 15,000 accounts, offering greater control over targeting and more insights to refine your strategy.

  • What happens when I give a thumbs up or thumbs down to a company?

Thumbs Down: When you downvote a company, it is excluded from your targeting. A CSV file of all the companies you’ve downvoted is created and uploaded to your Campaign Manager every Friday. This file is automatically updated to include any new companies you’ve downvoted during the week and is used to adjust your active ad campaigns.

Thumbs Up: Currently, giving a thumbs up to a company simply indicates that you find it to be a good fit. In the future, we aim to use this data to provide personalized recommendations for similar companies that may interest you.

  • How does the exclusion of accounts work using a CSV file?

When you downvote a company, its details are added to an exclusion CSV file. This file is automatically attached to your LinkedIn campaigns, ensuring that the companies on the list are not targeted. You don’t need to manually update the CSV file; it’s all handled behind the scenes for you.

  • How often is the exclusion list updated?

The exclusion CSV file is updated weekly, every Friday at 10 PM UTC, ensuring that any new downvoted companies are added to the list.

  • How can I reverse a downvote?

If you change your mind, you can reverse a downvote by clicking the Downvote button again. This restores the company and removes it from the exclusion list.

Budget Control FAQ

  • What happens when my budget is reached?

Once the set budget and variance are reached, all active campaigns within the budget will automatically pause. The campaigns will remain paused until the budget is increased, at which point they will automatically resume.

  • How will I be notified if my budget is at risk?

You will receive two types of email notifications:

    • Budget Might Be Exceeded: Alerts you if the system forecasts potential overspending, giving you the option to adjust the budget or spending.
    • Budget Limit Reached – Campaigns Paused: Notifies you when your budget has been reached, pausing all active campaigns. Campaigns remain paused until the budget is increased.
  • Can I adjust the budget after creating a Budget Group?

Yes, you can modify the total budget of a Budget Group at any time by going back to the group and updating the budget figure.

  • Can I set individual budgets for campaign groups within a Budget Group?

Yes, you can set individual budgets for specific campaign groups within a Budget Group. Once an individual campaign group hits its budget, it will pause automatically.

  • What happens if I don’t set individual budgets for campaign groups?

Setting individual budgets for campaign groups is optional. If you choose not to, the entire Budget Group will be managed under the overall budget, and each campaign group will pause once the group’s total budget is reached.

  • Can I have multiple Budget Groups for different campaigns?

Yes, you can create multiple Budget Groups to manage different campaigns across various audience segments or seasonal campaigns. This provides more control over how budgets are allocated.

  • Can a campaign group be part of multiple Budget Groups?

No, a campaign group can only belong to one Budget Group. If you need to include a campaign group in multiple Budget Groups, you will need to duplicate the campaign group.
